To make a long story short, the G30 quickly became my favorite Glock. My test sample never went back—I sent a check to Glock and bought the darn thing. A better alternative for self-defense carry would be the Glock 30S which combines the slimmer frame and capacity of the 30SF with the thinner frame of the G36 (a pistol that was good but lacked sufficient capacity). The 30SF is fairly comfortable for me; the regular 30 not so much, but the Gen4 is ( which is supposedly the same as the SF). In my area 9 mm is in the $20 range, .40 $28-29, and ,45 just over $30.
