There's a much easier way to find soul lava, although it will be in much smaller quantities. Craft a Structures Compass from the mod of the same name. Go to the Other, then crouch and use it to access a menu with a list of structures. Search for "piglin_village". Go to the coordinates it lists and dig down to around y = 0.
