Remember the main reason FFXIV 1.0 lag is really due how bad the servers structure was build. The software they used was really bad for a MMO game and top of that they use crystal tools engine which was a really bad idea. FFXIV 1.0 was half ass everywhere from the servers structure to the engine to the game. And if you're interested in PvP, Primal's queues tend to be shorter than others, at least during the weekends and evenings. Most servers, especially in NA data enters are well populated. Only one of note is Balmung. It’s known for having a lot of role players which can be weird to the uninitiated. If you're not joining friends, I'd recommend choosing any Preferred servers for a bit of an exp boost (but it certainly isn't required; just makes it a bit easier to level multiple jobs at once to try different things out). 4.
