The first componant is a filter, then a splitter, one hose to the vac tank, the other to the headlamp/wiper door tee, etc, etc, etc. At this point it would be best to get a good vacuum diagram for the car. Dr. Rebuild has the best one IMO.Put a vacuum gauge on the manifold fitting and read what you have. Should be at least 14-18 inches of vacuum. After that if that fixes the brake problem then find a vacuum source that is full vacuum at idle off the carb. Then install the trans line to it.
