I've always used my own Wi-Fi router and enable bridge mode on Comcast devices. Very easy to do and no problems. It's a typical scenario for the more advanced users. Just wanted to share that I experienced constant dropouts and connectivity issues with the XB7 and had to request a replacement. Had nothing to do with using in bridge mode.
So when I use the Xfinity XB7 in the normal mode (Modem + Router) my internet speed is fine (800-900 Mbps through Ethernet cable), however, activating the bridge mode and using my own router (NETGEAR Nighthawk X4S R7800) causes the speed to drop to 400 Mbps. I switched back to the Xfinity modem/router, but the Eero was still not able to connect to the internet. Then I disabled bridge mode, and the Eero system was able to connect successfully.
