If the day you wish to take off is in the future, you use PTO. You can put in a request for that day on Walmart.one. It's advised to make sure the day is marked over 3 weeks in advance since the schedule is usually loaded in for 3 weeks from the current one. Put in 8 hours. As long as you cover the shift or part of a shift you miss, you cannot be pointed on it, regardless of it being a key date or not. And if they threaten to put a point on anyway, don't be afraid to open door it, it is against PTO policy. Ppto works exactly the same on a key event date as non key event dates. PPTO covers you if its a regular day, if it's a key date, if the world blows up, ANYTHING. You can't even put in 16 hours if you tried.
