I already have a "summer" carry (Shield Plus 3.1" barrel), Im looking for something that I could use as a nightstand/home defense pistol, with the occasional range trip.Rival, it's the pinnacle of the Canik lineup. The Darkside gives you the most options for mounting optics. You’re not wrong in your reasoning. The Mete SFX is a good base to jump from if you want to dip your toe into competition or just have a good all round shooting experience.The Canik definitely has the better trigger. It is very crisp and smooth. The mag release on the Canik feels pretty good but Maybe a touch too big. The mag release on the Walther is almost too small in comparison.
