I have had it on my '18 twice. First time the fix, per GM TSB, was to add a portion of wiring harness. That fix only lasted about a month. Next time, the dealer replaced the shifter assembly. So far so good. The work around is pretty simple. Put it in park and a quick flick of the shifter button will clear the message. Annoying but not a big deal. 3.1. From the back side of the shifter, use a finger to depress the Brake Transmission Shift Interlock (BTSI) solenoid (1) and release the lock arm. 3.2.
