Nov 20, 2023 · After searching the interwebs I have come down to 2 options. 1. LMT 7-3/4” buffer assembly (longer buffer tube, sprinco orange extra heavy spring and H3 buffer. 2. Keep the standard length, 7” tube and swap the buffer and spring / use something like a silent capture spring.
Hi all, Just picked up an LMT buffer kit for a 300BLK build I'm working on. The rifle will have a 10.5" barrel and will be run mostly suppressed. I was wondering since the LMT buffer kit comes with what I believe is an H buffer (3 OZ buffer) if that will suffice or should I be using an H2 buffer? The buffer is said to be a carbine buffer. This buffer is only for use in .308 ARs with a standard 7" deep AR-15 carbine receiver extension (buffer tube). DO NOT USE A CAR-10 buffer in any gun with an A5 buffer tube! Damage/injury/mayhem will result. If you have an ArmaLite/VLTOR A5 extended length tube (7-5/8"deep) or a Magpul UBR Gen2 stock I recommend an XH Carbine Buffer.
