We’re aware of an issue affecting some customers’ Xfinity Stream service, where Closed Captioning is defaulting to “on” when the app is launched. We’re working to resolve the issue and are planning to implement a permanent fix in the coming weeks. In the meantime, you can take the following steps to turn off Closed Captioning.
Access the guide's Main Menu. Using the arrow keys, navigate to Setup and press OK/Select on the remote control. Navigate to Closed Captioning Setup using arrow keys and press OK/Select. For the past few weeks, I have noticed that the closed captions for ABC network shows are about 15 seconds to a minute behind the actual show. This makes them unusable. I see this, when looking at shows that were recorded for XFINITY stream. I also have seen at least one on-demand show for ABC that was similarly out of sync.
