An upgrade allows a full attack for any miss against you, so you can overcome that slow attack speed from heavy armor just through sky high defense (that you should have through a Paladin in the first place).

So ability to run faster is highly useful for both melee and ranged build. Can be good idea to get coil of resourcefulness and quick switch as arquebuss in second slot can be very useful for FoD damage maximization. Might even worth to go as aumaua for three slots.I tried to build a character based around passive heals with active support abilities and this multi-class combination is just perfect for this sort of playstyle! This character also serves as an off-tank since they are able to wear heavy armor and a shield as most of the healing is done passively.
