So decided to pull the radio out and try with the OEM radio connected again and no maestro just to see if the FOB worked again and still no luck with the key FOB button press opening the trunk. You’ll need to locate the wireless module for the trunk. I doubt it’s built into the trunk release switch.

"Unlock" button on mine was working intermittently until I took out the circuit board out of the FOB and cleaned printed circuit where the backside of the rubber buttons make contacts.
