So from what I understand the benefit of the X-Macro slide is, in theory, reduced recoil and faster follow-up shots. The benefit of the XL slide is the 0.6 inches more on the barrel, giving the rounds better performance.

Brief background: I've owned a P365XL with the superb Sig X-ray iron sights for the past couple of years, so I'm no stranger to Sig P365's. I shoot it surprisingly well despite the somewhat creepy/spongy trigger at the wall. I just bought a Sig X-Macro for its 17rd capacity, ported slide, and the fact that it is optics ready.
