Bowfa without crystal armour.

Question about BowFA and useable armor! First off, thank you for everyone who helped me on my previous post regarding my struggle with corrupted gauntlet. You all helped propel me to receive my BowFA at only 138 KC. If you have 500m or more, shadow is probably better, but it's not really a "rebuild" at that point. Bowfa+crystal armor and tons of money leftover for other very good gear. Full crystal with a regular crystal bow is probably alot better than you think, I was surprised when I used it on leagues. Yes crystal armour with crystal bow has better dps than blowpipe in many places. I use for greater demon tasks and absolutely smack. Insanely good almost everywhere.

With 99 range/pegs crystal bow with crystal armor actually outperforms even blowpipe ammy darts at Mystics, Olm Head, but is much worse at tightrope and Muttadiles, 6.9DPS - 8.09 DPS for cbow/bp. Nope. Bowfa without crystal is a noodle. BP addy darts will out dps it practically everywhere. People underestimate just how big a 30% accuracy buff and 15% damage is. The only upkeep of bowfa is the degrading armor. Dude corrupting it requires 2000 crystal shards. That's 32m gp and for 32m gp in shards you'd otherwise get 200k shots with the uncorrupted bofa. It's not like regular bofa doesn't require anything to use. Since bofa is 4 tick that's 25 shots per minute or 1500 per hour.

And whilst yeah the bow will never degrade again, without also using crystal armour you're not getting the full potential out of it and you can't corrupt the armour so that needs recharging Edit: also for the price of a bowfa I would just buy a load of chins and go to the monkey madness 2 tunnels if you wanted to level range, it'll be 10+ times ...

Bowfa is good because of the crystal armor. Hard part is done, get back in there and if you really don't like this grind leave after 5 armor seeds and skip the helm (highly recommend getting all 6 tho). It’s still a better crystal bow so useable for sure , and sees good use at lizardman shamans (where you can’t use the armor anyway) as a free to use alternative to bp. I would try to limit the use pre corruption though, which is likely if you don’t have the armor yet. If it is though go wild.

The crystal armour and bowfa together is what makes the bowfa so powerful. In some circumstances you can get away with wearing a serp instead of the crystal helm depending on the fight but I wouldn't use the bowfa without the chest and legs at a minimum.
