I come from the original DayZ mod for arma 2 years ago and while I think the arma 3 version runs better most people will probably be on the standalone. I’m sure you could find some people still in arma 3 mod you’ll have better luck on the standalone. Or take the ultimate deep dive and move on to tarkov like a lot of DayZ players do.
