The Majestic Mirage is known as the quieter and calmer resort out of the 3 Majestics. It's adult oriented. 2 out of the 7 buildings are dedicated for families and the other 5 are adult only. If anything, I have the Palladium Palace on my list to visit at Christmas. I know that the beach there is super nice and the resort looks very nice with access to other sections. The club set ups at the two are different. Elegance has three very distinct club pools, bars, and lounges. Colonial only has one lounge and it's pools are more narrow and run more like a lazy creek perpendicular to the beach. ME has two club pools with beach views and the third has a swim up bar.Beach - Colonial wins, larger, wider stretch of beach. Elegance side to narrow and crowded. The club sections in the Majestic Elegance and Majestic Colonial are adult only, but there are still kids throughout the rest of the resort. The Colonial has more kids than the Elegance by far. Based on what you want, I think Breathless would be a better fit for a solo travel in their 30s out of the 3 resorts. The Splash is located behind the Royalton Punta Cana. A shuttle is provided to bring you to the beach area. The Elegance is slightly more elegant but the Colonial has more of a family vibe. They are next to each other, so the beach is the same. Both are lush and tropical as well as compact.If you are looking for adults only then Breathless or Excellence would be best. We found the food, service and beach at Breathless to far exceed Majestic. If you prefer a calmer beach then Excellence may not appeal to you. Very pleased. Elegance might be a bit fancier but the Colonial is very nice. There might be a more upbeat vibe at the Colonial. These 3 resorts don't have exchange privileges. If you don't have children with you, upgrading to the adult side of the Colonial is a good idea. You have to book in the Colonial Club category.
