If you want to run, you really need to pick a shoe that is specifically designed for running because it’s VERY important to take care of your feet when logging all those miles. I've found the Ultra Range are actually comfortable for jogging.

Regarding my van specifically, my view is that any road I’m not comfortable driving in the van is probably a road I can more easily hike/run/bike.
