This movie genuinely disturbed me. I had an emotional reaction to it. I felt fear for hours after I watched it. I didn't want to be in the dark. The thing that made it so horrific was how convincing and realistic the acting was. By the final sequence I actually just wanted the movie to be over. In the Johnsons, the son kicks the bathroom door open after he becomes angry from the bathroom door being locked and his father not responding. So both instances are caused by each son's inability to favorably connect with their parent.
