However, to progress further you will have to switch to Gold Dragon, Im not sure if it is the only way, it is how it worked for me.
In chapter 2 you get covenant of the inheritor, aka free cold iron and good aligned weapons for every ally in a good range. Most demons have DR cold iron and DR good, making it 0. This is a game where you'll miss a lot more then you'll hit but that's a compromise that needs to be made or else everything will be burned away in an instant.
