If you make your own spacers be sure they are the right length so the rope binds as you put weight on your steps. I am using 7mm rope. I cut pieces of bicycle inner tube and pulled over the metal buckles. I had to modify my lone wolf's with a double top step so I could max out my aiders. With a shorter Muddy stick I think 4 steps would be my max. Are you able to use the 5th step on...
