Yeah, it's cool on a fusion/special but you don't really need a damage boost on a fusion, and an extra 6k per shot isn't that much compared to 6k every few shots on a primary. In GM's it's not really worth it and I've gone back to full CWL instead of elemental wells because they are just terrible in high end content. 4.
The volatile explosion is the same damage regardless of what weapon you use, so higher RPM weapons are better (that's why funnelweb is so good), so you can proc the explosion more often.
